What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser so it can recognise your device on later visits or from one page to the next. Similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, do the same thing in a different place. In this policy we call all of them "cookies".

Who is responsible for them

sanctuar.org is run by Sanctuar, a BDSM event organiser in Romania. For any question about cookies or your data, write to us at [email protected].

How we use them

We divide cookies into three categories. Only essential cookies are active without asking you; the others start only after you accept them, and until then no measurement or advertising script loads on the page.

Advertising

Advertising cookies and similar technologies show us how many people reach the site, where they come from and which pages they read, so we can bring Sanctuar events to the people they are meant for. They stay off until you turn them on.

Cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work. They can't be turned off here, because without them forms, your chosen language and even remembering the choices on this page would stop working.

Third-party providers

Some services the site uses belong to other companies. They process data under their own policies:

  • Cloudflare (Site delivery and security): Delivers the pages and fonts from its servers and stops abusive traffic. It may set the security cookies listed above. Privacy policy · Cloudflare cookies
  • OpenJS Foundation (jQuery CDN): Delivers the jQuery library used by the site's notification windows. It sets no cookies, but it receives your IP address, like any server a file is loaded from. Privacy policy
  • Brevo (Event announcement emails): Sends the emails you subscribe to at the bottom of the page. It sets no cookies on the site; the emails may measure whether they were opened and which links were clicked. Privacy policy

Data collected by Google Analytics may also be processed outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards Google describes in its privacy policy.

How to change your choice

You can turn each category on or off at any time from the cookie settings page. The link is also at the bottom of every page. When you turn advertising cookies off, we delete the ones Google Analytics has already saved on this site.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies too, parts of the site such as forms and language selection will stop working properly.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to ask for access to your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting processing done before. Write to us at [email protected].

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP).
